As President of Touchmark, Jay oversees the operations of all Touchmark communities in the United States and Canada. The services offered in these 13 communities include independent and assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing/long-term care, home health, home care, and health and fitness clubs. 

Jay first joined Touchmark in 2006 and spent three years as Executive Director of Touchmark’s community in Vancouver, Washington. After a brief stint with another community and 10 years with The Springs Living, Jay returned to Touchmark as President in 2020. During his tenure at The Springs, Jay served first as an Executive Director before advancing to Director of Operations, Chief Operating Officer, and then President.

Prior to discovering his passion for senior living, Jay worked as a Branch Manager with Wells Fargo, followed by six years with Intel, where he held several roles, including Internal Audit Lead, Senior Financial Analyst, and Commodity Manager. Joining Touchmark in 2006 was a turning point in his life, leading him into a career serving older adults and developing new approaches to enhance retirement living.

Jay is a member of the National Investment Center Future Leaders Program and serves on the Board of the National Center for Assisted Living.

A longtime resident of Beaverton, Oregon, Jay received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Oregon and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University in Tempe. He also completed the Executive Education Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jay and his wife Jennifer have been married nearly 20 years and have three children: Andrew, Aiden , and Aynalem, who the family adopted from Ethiopia when she was 1. Ella, a Weimaraner, and Willow, a German shorthaired pointer, share the Leo household. Time with family and an occasional game of golf dominate Jay’s time outside of work.
